Data Science Platform Strategy
In this project, we developed and evaluated different scenarios for a data science platform in the banking environment.

Challenge
With increasing Data Science maturity, most organizations are asking themselves how they can bring their various projects and initiatives together in a meaningful way on a central platform. Our customer, an international financial institution, was faced with this challenge of developing a strategy for providing a central Data Science platform for existing and new projects as well.
Approach
An inventory of the current status and the existing data science projects and initiatives was first drawn up together in various use-case workshops with the customer. Additionally, the current and future requirements for the platform were recorded in close coordination with the customer’s IT department. Based on the collected input, we developed several platform concepts in a next step, each based on different technologies. In addition to an open source platform concept, we developed two proposals that included commercial platforms.
Results
Upon completion of the project, our customer developed a better understanding of the current landscape of existing data science platforms, which was necessary to make a suitable selection based on the developed proposals. Due to regulatory requirements, a proposal was selected that included both an on-premises and a cloud component, resulting in a hybrid platform model.
